Beta 1 is focused on smoother workflows, smarter data selection, and better visibility across your development environment. From portable Studio settings and improved Web UI lookups to package update notifications and a revamped documentation system, this release is all about making development faster and easier.

Try the new features in your own projects and let us know what you think. Your feedback continues to shape the future of DataFlex.

New in the Beta 1 build

Studio Settings Import/ExportDF 26 Beta1 Export-import

Your setup, wherever you need it.

The Studio can now import and export settings directly to a file, making it easier to share configurations, move between machines, or back up your preferred environment.

It also detects previously installed DataFlex versions on your machine and allows you to import settings from them with just a few clicks.

The result? Faster onboarding, easier upgrades, and a consistent development experience without manually recreating your setup every time.

DF 26 Beta 1 Hybrid ListHybrid List Selection

Smarter lookups. Faster selection.

Beta 1 introduces a smoother and more flexible way to select parent records in Web UI Applications through a combination of new and enhanced controls.

A new control, cWebSelectionForm, provides a more versatile and customizable version of cWebSuggestionForm. It includes customizable buttons and a built-in search field inside the popup dialog, giving users a faster and more intuitive selection experience.

At the same time, cWebList now supports filtering on column values. When creating prompt lists or lookup dialogs, the wizard can automatically add a search field. Combined with cWebSelectionForm, existing search values are carried over automatically, creating a seamless workflow for users.

The result? Faster searching, smoother navigation, and more user-friendly data selection experiences with less effort from developers.

Package Information on DashboardDF 26 Beta 1 Package Manager Dashboard

Stay updated at a glance.

The Studio dashboard now displays information about installed packages directly in the main overview, giving developers immediate insight into their workspace dependencies.

It also shows notifications when package updates are available, so you can stay current without needing to open the Package Manager screen.

The result? Better visibility, easier maintenance, and a more streamlined workflow for managing packages across projects.

New Documentation System

Documentation, modernized!

The DataFlex documentation system has been fully revamped to make learning and searching for information faster and more intuitive. It’s now available at: docs.dataflex.dev

The online documentation now features advanced search capabilities and syntax highlighting for code samples, making it easier to explore APIs, examples, and technical details. Offline documentation also received a refreshed design and improved readability with syntax highlighting support.

The result? Faster access to information, a smoother learning experience, and documentation that feels as modern as the platform itself.
