One of the most significant changes in DataFlex Reports 2026 is the update of the underlying foundation code used by DataFlex Reports.

DataFlex Reports relies on several third-party technologies, including LibXL for Excel export, DynaPDF for PDF export, Zint for barcode generation, SQLite for database functionality and Scintilla for the function editor.

Simpler project setup with DataFlex Reports integration delivered through the DataFlex Package Manager.

DataFlex Reports 2026 introduces a new integration approach for DataFlex 2026 applications.

Instead of installing integration libraries separately, DataFlex Reports integration is now delivered through DataFlex packages. Selecting the appropriate developer package automatically installs the required dependencies, reducing manual configuration.

HTML Previewer

A more modern preview experience with improved rendering and support for application themes.

The HTML Previewer has been redesigned and no longer relies on an HTML iFrame for rendering report output.

This architectural change improves the rendering process and adds support for dark mode capabilities introduced in DataFlex web controls.
