DataFlex Personal is a no-cost version of DataFlex Studio and limited deployment licenses usable for two specific purposes.
- Get acquainted with DataFlex without making a financial commitment.
- Have a free, fast & easy mobile, web and Windows development tool for creating personal, non-commercial applications.
- When used for personal, private, non-commercial applications, a DataFlex Personal license must be renewed annually (free).
- Get acquainted with DataFlex without making a financial commitment.
- Prototype, create and test trial business applications with DataFlex for a period of one year provided that trial applications are not deployed in a production environment or for any form of commercial use.
What is allowed?
- Development and applications solely for personal, non-commercial use.
- Freeware distribution of your applications to others for their private, personal, non-commercial use.
- Freeware created with Personal may not be the basis of any form of revenue generation or barter; paid services may not be performed using Personal.
- Educational use in not-for-profit classroom environments (public high schools, colleges and universities).
- Evaluation for commercial use - prototyping, building and testing trial business applications provided that they are not deployed in a production environment or for any form of commercial use whatsoever.
- Development and/or use of applications developed with DataFlex Personal in any form of a business, governmental agency or institutional environment.
- Any form of revenue generation, dependant transaction or sale of software or services created with Personal (including fee-based shareware).
- Any form of production or business use of applications created with a Personal license.
- Administrative use by educational institutions of applications created with a Personal license.

DataFlex Personal is a free version of DataFlex Studio, offering all the same features as the commercial edition. To get started, just register with your contact details, and you'll receive an activation code. Simple and straightforward!
A DataFlex Personal license gives you:
- A fully functional DataFlex Studio, just like the commercial version.
- Simply register with your contact info to get your activation code.
- Once registered, you’ll unlock a one-year Personal license (that can be extended).
- Comes with a 3-user Client Engine for Windows Desktop apps.
- Includes Connectivity Kits for MS-SQL, DB2, MySQL, MariaDB, Amazon Aurora, and ODBC.
- Includes a Personal Web Application Server.
- You’ll see the product logo screen each time you open the Studio or Windows Client Engine.
"Non-commercial" means applications that are purely for personal use and not for profit. Examples include:
- Developing apps for your own personal, non-commercial use.
- Sharing your apps as freeware for others’ personal use (no money, trade, or paid services allowed).
- Educational use in nonprofit settings like public schools, colleges, and universities.
- Evaluating for commercial purposes—prototyping or testing business apps, as long as they’re not used in a live production environment or for any commercial activity.
